Welcome! Non-residents can operate a vehicle for a maximum of 3 months without registering the vehicle in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Once you take up residency in the province for a longer period, you must:

• register your vehicle(s) (also see How to Register a Vehicle) and
• the licenced drivers in your household must also exchange their driver’s licence (also see Exchange Your Driver’s Licence in NL)
