The GeoFiles collection is an extensive repository of documents on the Geoscience of the province, including mineral-exploration assessment reports, published reports and maps, open file reports and maps, and more.
The mineral-exploration assessment reports contain company information on exploration activities including geochemical analysis, assays, drill-hole logs, geology, geophysics and mineralization, dating back to 1899.
**NEW** Digital data is now available through GeoFiles for Mineral Assessment Reports. These downloadable zip folders contain the files submitted to Mineral Lands Division plus any files used in the creation of the GeoFile. Larger files are available by request only. These larger files can be identified by searching “Oversized Data” in Keywords on the GeoFiles Search Website.
Links to a selection of Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) maps and publications pertaining to Newfoundland and Labrador are available through GeoFiles, however Publications of the GSC (Natural Resources Canada): GEOSCAN (NRCAN) is the main source of GSC material and should be searched additionally to GeoFiles.
