Provincial Government Launches New Online Bidding System

A new e-procurement system launched today by the Public Procurement Agency will modernize and improve the way suppliers do business with the Provincial Government.

Available at www.merx4.merx.com/govnl, the new system allows users to submit, view and manage bid submissions online rather than a paper-based process, eliminating the need to drop off paper copies to the procurement offices of Tendering and Contracts and the Public Procurement Agency.

By using the new system, vendors benefit from a more interactive procurement experience by allowing them to manage their own accounts, identify types of open calls relevant to their business, and receive electronic notifications when open calls are published.

The new online system will allow for more efficient use of government resources. During the initial implementation of e-procurement, vendors will still be able to bid on open calls through the paper-based process for a limited time.

Vendors have been contacted to voluntarily participate in training webinars to assist with understanding the new online bidding process and its capabilities.

Quote
“The Public Procurement Agency and Department of Transportation and Infrastructure awards hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts each year. These contracts range from office supplies to constructing new buildings. This new e-procurement system will help all suppliers – big and small – submit, view and track their bids online and improve the way they do business with the Provincial Government.”
