Safety in Construction Zones
Major road construction projects also often take place during summer months, when temperature and weather conditions may be optimal for construction work.
During the summer maintenance season, all major road construction and maintenance work requires safe and secure construction zones. Workers adhere to critical safety protocols and traffic control procedures. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure strives to ensure safety for the travelling public and to keep them clear from ongoing work. Members of the public are asked to also do their part to keep workers safe and to abide by safety measures. The cooperation of the public is critical to the safety of those who work on the road. Please slow down when approaching construction zones and adhere to all posted signage.
