Ferry schedule information and status updates can now be obtained on our 511 Traveler Information Service via any of the following methods:
Desktop Website
- 511 can be accessed on a desktop computer using either of the following URLs: 511NL.ca or 511NL.com or NL511.ca or NL511.com
Telephone
- 511 can be accessed free of charge via telephone by dialing 5-1-1 from any landline or mobile phone in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Those wishing to access NL511 while outside the province must dial 1-833-616-5511.
- If you have a question and would like to speak with someone in our office, please call us at 1-888-638-5454 during normal business hours.
Mobile App
- The app is free to download by both iPhone and Android users. Users can find the app by typing NL511 in the search field of their app store or by clicking the applicable link.
- 511 on the App Store (apple.com) or 511 NL – Apps on Google Play.

Gulf Ferry Services
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is not responsible for the interprovincial ferry service between the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia (Gulf Ferry Service). Responsibility for this service resides with the Government of Canada through Marine Atlantic Inc.
Fortune-Saint Pierre Ferry Service
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is not responsible for the ferry service between Fortune and Saint Pierre. Responsibility for this service resides with the Government of France.
